Driving in to this isolated park from Curecanti NRA, we had the sense that there was something special here. Sure, it’s not as grand as the other national park with a canyon in its name, but there is a lot of drama and sightseeing to do here. And did I mention the dandelions? They were the size of a baseball here.
My favorite things to do here
- Rim Rock Trail
- South Rim Scenic Road and pullouts
Things I want to come back to do
- Stay at the south rim campground
- Come in the winter
Fun Facts
- Kayakers run the river here, but it is very technical with up to class V rapids and long and dangerous portages
